    A luminescent jellyfish that only
    surfaces during the fall months of the
    year. These fish are hunted for their
    tentacles which are known to carry a

    affected many creatures
    differently. These snails

    An ancient scorpion and likely
    the mother of most of the
    scorpions that live on the
    western shores of Melanat.
    She was able to sustain a long

    Deep in the dungeons many
    prisoners were subjected to
    various types of torture. This
    lost soul was incinerated in

    Shudom, this golem wanders
    aimlessly around the ruins of
    its creator. Shudom cursed their
    existance as they killed most

    This creature once attacked
    the crew of the "Hydra", a
    pirate ship that docked in
    these caves. After it ate

    the magical red fountain. They
    no longer carry the poison of
    the other slimes.

    of snake-people.

    built his castle here on Melanat, an
    envoy from the eastern lands travelled

    the two continents.

    brought with him a number of Widda
    slaves, rare treasures, magical weapons
    and so on. The Widda servants were
    offered to the king along with great

    servants and discovered their

    seeked to learn their art and expand

    He dissappeared, and there is no
    written record of him being seen
    again on the island.

    Melanat.

    King Harvine, his pupil of wind magic
    attempted to control the island as





  1854. as he controlled the rest of the
    continent. His castle was overrun
    by creatures before he was able
    to complete it and he was
    forced to abandon Melanat.

    island's grasp however, falling ill
    to the poisons that quickly
    enveloped the island. He is buried
    here somewhere, but no one knows

    Thedeck, the mage of fire, became
    jealous of Harvine's power and
    attempted to overthrow him when





  1857. the island was attacked by monsters.
    Unsuccessful, he hid himself in
    the ruins of what would have been
    Harvine's second castle on the island.

  1858. art near the core of Melanat's
    volcano, but he eventually left the
    island.

    Shudom, the mage of earth magic,





  1859. the least successful of all of Orladin's
    mages, began to create a new
    race of giants on the island. This
    race he dubbed his children, and
    took care of them fondly.

    satisfied and tried to create another
    race of golems to be his guards.
    These golems turned against him,
    eradicating his children and driving





  1861. him back to the main continent.

    Atainius, the mage of water,
    quickly abandoned his studies
    under Orladin when he reached

    Atainius went back to the place
    of the beginning and stole away
    Amiya, one of Orladin's favorite
    fairies. Atainius locked her up

  2401. Ages ago, I was among the living,
    a warrior of the gods. My name then
    was Jonas. My kind was a winged
    race that lived in a kingdom in the
    sky.





  2402. My god was Elfos, master of the sky.
    He created us to watch over the world
    of Valicia. We were given magic
    before any other race, and treated
    as divine.





  2403. I was an elite dragoon warrior, one
    of very few bestowed with the most
    powerful magical gifts.

    Then the war came.





  2404. A war between the evil abominations
    that germinated from Vallad's
    pathetic misuse of his divine powers.
    I was sent to stop the corruption, to
    put the land at peace.





  2405. We descended upon the evil
    infestation, and just as we were
    about to overcome the source
    of the evil, we were taken away.




  2406. Vallad, jealous of our ability to
    undo the mistakes he had made,
    unjustly tore us from the sky,
    eliminating every last dragon
    warrior but myself.





  2407. I was to serve a different purpose.
    I was taken to the place of the
    beginning, and there Vallad created
    the Dragon King tree.




  2408. There he took my powers and
    gifted them to the races of the
    earth as recompense for the
    disaster his dark seed had caused.




  2409. Magic was first gifted to the mortal,
    Turcotte Ichrius. I was made to
    teach him how to wield the magic
    and how to create things from it.
    Thus he crafted great magical armor.





  2410. After a millenium, his work was done
    and he left all his knowledge in the
    hands of his brightest student, Orladin.
    Vallad made Orladin my new master
    and I was to be enslaved further





  2411. and pass my talents on. Orladin,
    however, was not like any other
    elf, he had his own will, and treated
    me as an equal. We became
    friends, and eventually he came to





  2412. to know my homeland and my people.
    We created a relic to teleport all over
    the continent, and together our powers
    grew.




  2413. Orladin took on a few understudies,
    who later became known as the great
    four archmages. They all showed
    talent, but none possessed the
    proper spirit to master their abilities.





  2414. Orladin achieved near godhood,
    and secluded himself deep within
    his temple. When he appeared,
    he was different, enlightened. He
    had somehow mastered the





  2415. element of light, an element never
    before used by a mortal.
    He announced he would go to
    Melanat to master his newfound power
    and he would teach it to his pupils.





  2416. However none were able
    to learn it.
    Knowing we were once like brothers,
    I sought the secrets of the light
    magic, but he denied me the power.





  2417. I tried to find the secrets within his
    temple, but was not able to locate it.
    One day he caught me and banished
    me from his temple. He sealed most
    of my magic, and again I was





  2418. betrayed.
    I travelled to Granatyki, as a normal
    man. I met a woman there, and had
    a child.
    Then one night I was beckoned to





  2419. island. I found a magic deep in the
    heart of this place, one of darkness
    that I perceived to be able to conquer
    the power of Orladin's light magic.
    I studied it, mastered it, but the magic





  2420. took my life. It shall not take yours..
    my son.

    You are of my blood, and it is the
    source of your dark power.





  2421. The keys you found at the fountain
    are the secret to the weapons of
    Orladin. He created four master
    weapons to test his unworthy
    archmages.

    entered his shrine, but you have.

    I suspect you will be able to inherit
    all of the power.
